General questions

Omega-3 fatty acids are a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The best-known representatives include EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).

EPA is an omega-3 fatty acid that occurs naturally in marine oils. It is the subject of scientific research into its chemical properties, its occurrence in the body and its involvement in biochemical signaling pathways.

DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid and a natural component of cell membranes. It is found in particular in tissues with a high lipid content, such as nervous tissue. In research, DHA is analyzed in connection with the structure of cell membranes as well as with general cellular and neuronal processes.

Plant-based omega-3 fatty acids are mainly found as alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). It is found, among other things, in:
    • Linseed and linseed oil
    • Chia seeds
    • Walnuts
    • Hemp seeds
    • Rapeseed oil
    • Soybeans
Linseed oil and linseed contain particularly high amounts of ALA.
But be careful !
Alpha-linolenic acid can be converted into omega-3 fatty acids in the body. However, this conversion is limited:
  • About 5-10% of ALA is converted to EPA
  • Less than 1 % is converted to DHA

The omega-6/omega-3 index describes the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids and is used in nutritional science as an analytical parameter to describe the fatty acid composition.

A higher proportion of omega-6 fatty acids is often found in various diets, particularly in Western-style diets. The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is used in the specialist literature to compare differences in fatty acid intake and to classify diet-related patterns.

The term “high-dose omega-3 capsules” describes products with an increased content of omega-3 fatty acids per capsule, especially EPA. This composition means that the recommended daily portion can be achieved with a smaller number of capsules, whereas other omega-3 preparations often require several capsules per day.

    • EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function.
    • DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.
    • clearly defined EPA and DHA content per capsule
    • Consistent quality and purity
    • Easy integration into everyday life
    • Transparent declaration without unnecessary additives

Omega-3 thus becomes an integral part of a conscious, balanced lifestyle.
